Monsoon Intensifies Across Nepal
Monsoon activity continues to influence weather conditions across Nepal, bringing widespread rainfall, dense cloud cover, and occasional thunderstorms to several parts of the country.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, light to moderate rainfall has already been recorded in parts of Bagmati, Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Weather conditions are expected to intensify through the day and night, with moderate to heavy rainfall forecast in hilly and high-altitude regions, as well as isolated areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, Madhesh, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim.
In view of the worsening weather, the Meteorological Forecasting Division has issued a public advisory warning of possible landslides, flash floods, and debris flows in vulnerable areas. Authorities have urged residents, local agencies, and travellers to remain on high alert and take necessary precautions. The persistent rainfall is expected to disrupt daily life, affect agricultural activities, and impact road and air transportation, particularly in mountainous regions.
Officials have advised the public to stay updated with weather forecasts and avoid unnecessary travel to areas at risk until conditions improve.
