Code of conduct to improve employee work style

The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has implemented a nine-point code of conduct and commitment letter to make the performance of employees working in the ministry and its subordinate bodies more effective. The ministry has introduced this arrangement to make the office service delivery faster, more efficient, and responsive. According to the code of conduct, employees are required to complete the tasks that come to their desk or system on the same day or at the latest by the next day. In case of any confusion or delay, there is a provision to inform their supervisor in a timely manner.

To make the service flow client-friendly, employees must prioritize providing services to elderly, disabled, persons with disabilities, postpartum or pregnant women, children, and the helpless. To maintain office discipline, employees must be present on time and, as much as possible, should not be absent without prior approval. Similarly, while in the office, everyone must wear an identification card visibly, and when representing the office, wearing the designated uniform is mandatory. The code of conduct includes provisions that any employee submitting a comment, letter, or decision must track or follow up on their work themselves and update the supervisor accordingly.
