Heavy Rain Disrupts Public Transport in Kathmandu

Authorities in Nepal suspended public transport services to and from Kathmandu on Friday. Landslides triggered by continuous rainfall had blocked several highways connecting the capital.
This disruption followed heavy rains that began on Thursday in the Kathmandu Valley and various other parts of the Himalayan nation.
Naresh Raj Subedi, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office and a Superintendent of Police, stated that the operation of public vehicles has been halted due to traffic disruptions caused by landslides on the Prithvi and BP highways.
