Thamel Tourism Development Council’s Contribution
The Thamel Tourism Development Council has contributed Rs 1.64 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support people affected by the devastating floods in Nepal.
The financial assistance will be used for rebuilding and rehabilitation activities following the floods that hit the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli river system on August 26. The contribution aims to support disaster survivors in recovering from their losses.
The amount was deposited into the relief fund with the help of Kathmandu’s Chief District Officer (CDO). On Friday evening, Council Chairperson Rajuman Dangol handed over a cheque to Kathmandu CDO Ishwariraj Paudel during a discussion programme on peace and security in the Thamel area.
According to Council General Secretary Pashupati Kandel, the council had also provided direct assistance to flood-affected people during the disaster.
It distributed food items, cooking utensils and clothes worth Rs 2.5 million to the survivors.
This contribution reflects the council’s efforts to support communities during difficult times. Financial assistance and the distribution of essential goods can help affected families meet their immediate needs and rebuild their lives.
The council’s support highlights the importance of cooperation in disaster relief and rehabilitation efforts.
