Durga Prasai Arrested Over Social Media Remarks

Medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai was arrested by the Nepal Police Cyber Bureau on Monday for investigation following a complaint filed by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Rachana Khatiwada.

Police said Prasai was detained over allegedly derogatory social media remarks about Khatiwada and her son, Rasik Khatiwada, who died during the Gen Z movement. Khatiwada had objected to the remarks in Parliament and subsequently filed a complaint with the Cyber Bureau.

Prasai has faced arrest in several cases in the past. He was last released on August 3 following an order from the Bhaktapur District Court.
