Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma Unanimously Approved as Nepal’s Chief Justice
The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has unanimously endorsed Manoj Kumar Sharma for the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal the approval came after the committee conducted a parliamentary hearing for Sharma, whose name had earlier been recommended by the Constitutional Council of Nepal for the country’s top judicial post.
Following the endorsement, Sharma is expected to receive his official appointment and take the oath of office on Tuesday itself According to reports, the newly appointed Chief Justice will begin assigning daily court benches and hearings from Wednesday onward as he formally assumes leadership of Nepal’s judiciary.
The unanimous endorsement reflects broad political support for Sharma’s appointment at a time when Nepal’s judicial system continues to focus on strengthening institutional efficiency, legal reforms, and public confidence in the judiciary.
