The Embassy of India in Nepal, in collaboration with WWF Nepal, showcased the upcoming International Big Cat Alliance Summit during WWF Nepal’s 33rd anniversary celebrations held on Tuesday in Nepal.

The International Big Cat Alliance Summit is scheduled to take place in New Delhi, India, and is expected to focus on strengthening global cooperation for the conservation of big cats and the protection of their natural habitats.

The event was attended by representatives from Nepal’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment, officials from WWF Nepal, members of the diplomatic community, conservation experts, media representatives, and other distinguished guests.

During the programme, speakers highlighted the importance of regional and international collaboration in wildlife conservation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable environmental management. The event also showcased ongoing efforts to protect endangered species and preserve ecosystems across South Asia and beyond.

Organisers said the upcoming summit aims to bring together governments, conservation organisations, scientists, and policymakers to enhance cooperation on issues related to tiger, leopard, lion, snow leopard, and other big cat conservation initiatives.

The programme further reflected the growing partnership between India and Nepal in the field of environmental protection and wildlife conservation, particularly in safeguarding shared ecosystems and biodiversity corridors across the Himalayan and South Asian region.
