Buddha Air has stopped the Nepalgunj–Pokhara flight
Buddha Air has suspended the direct flight between Nepalgunj and Pokhara. Buddha Air stated that the direct flight between Pokhara and Nepalgunj has been suspended for a month due to a decrease in the number of religious tourists coming from India and high fuel costs. The flight was operated three days a week from Shrawan 17, 2078 BS, with the aim of promoting tourism and providing convenience to Indian travelers. The flight has been suspended starting Tuesday.
After the suspension of the direct flight between Nepalgunj and Pokhara, passengers, tourism entrepreneurs, and the general public in western Nepal have appeared disappointed. With the flight stopped, passengers are now required to travel at least 14 hours by road. With the suspension of the direct flight that could reach Pokhara in just thirty-five minutes, passengers are again forced to rely on a long and difficult road journey. Buddha Air had been providing service using an 18-seat Craft 1900 D series aircraft.
It was easy to reach tourist destinations like Bardiya National Park, Karnali Chisapani, and Rara from Pokhara via Nepalgunj, and it was easy for tourists coming from Lucknow, Kanpur, and Delhi in India to travel to Pokhara.
