The Sherpa siblings climb Yasa Thak Peak for the first time

At 5:30 PM on November 27, Sherpa twins Fura Tshering and Ngima Tashi successfully ascended Yasa Thak Peak. This is the first time the Sherpa brothers have officially climbed Yasa Thak Peak, according to Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, CEO of 14 Peaks Expedition. Nepal’s Department of Tourism has opened the mountain, one of the unexplored peaks in the Thamichhowa area, to climbers.

On November 26, the Sherpa brothers, who live in Samde, Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipliay-05, set off on their journey. On October 7, the Council of Ministers authorized the opening of 57 more mountains for climbing, after a suggestion by the Department of Tourism. This choice is in line with the fiscal year 2024–2025 tourist development goals.
