Flights to West Asia have partially resumed following a 12-day hiatus

Air travel to the West Asia region, which had been suspended for 12 days, has now partially resumed. Santush Kumar Basnet, the spokesperson for Tribhuvan International Airport, indicated that some international airlines have gradually restarted flights over the past five days, contingent on the evolving situation. The suspension, which began on February 28, was initiated due to safety concerns arising from the US-Iran conflict, resulting in the closure of airspace by various airlines from the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and Bahrain. Basnet mentioned that updates regarding flight operations are typically received only one day in advance, leading to the current partial resumption of services. Airlines including Air Arabia and Fly Dubai have already reinitiated select operations. Additionally, Himalaya Airlines has resumed limited flights to Dubai over the last four days, successfully transporting approximately 100 passengers daily.
