Karnali Highway is blocked by a landslide

Due to a landslide, the Karnali Highway is closed. The Karnali Highway’s Sukhet–Jumla Road segment between Gagane Khola, Kalikot, and Humma has been closed since this morning. After the rain began on Sunday evening, landslides occurred in several locations from Gagane Khola to Humma, blocking the route. Kalikot’s Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tek Bahadur Rawat, stated that the blockage was caused by a landslide that collapsed into Gagane Khola as a result of the heavy rain that occurred overnight. A JCB has been dispatched to clear the landslide because, according to him, there is no condition to operate the vehicle. Vehicles traveling to and from Kalikot, Jumla, Mugu, Bajura, and Humla to Surkhet are stopped because to the road barricade, according to the police.
