People in Humla are suffering from a lack of medications

There has been a medication scarcity in the rural Humla municipality of Kharpunath. For a month, there has been a lack of medications at all local healthcare institutions. The medical staff said that they were unable to provide the patients their necessary medications. Even the free medications that patients are entitled to are unavailable. The rural municipality has six basic health units, a basic health center, a community hospital, and four health posts. Visitors to these medical institutions go empty-handed. Dalsur Pariyar from Raya village said that the health posts were unable to provide him with medications.
Hari Bhakta Shahi, the local health coordinator, said that there was a shortage of vital medications since the tender notice was not sent out in a timely manner. Not even the most basic medications, such as cetamol, or those for those with asthma and the common cold, were available. Shahi claims that the Rs 500,000 transaction was done just prior to the Dashain celebration. The shop was now deserted. However, Bishnu Bahadur Shahi, the rural municipality’s acting chief administrative officer, stated that the next shipment of medication will come by the first week of the month of Magh. People in this area are compelled to go to the District Hospital in Simkot due to a shortage of medications.
