RSP Condemns Misconduct Against HoR Member Ganesh Paudel, Demands Investigation
The parliamentary party of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has strongly condemned the misconduct against House of Representatives (HoR) member Ganesh Paudel, calling for an impartial investigation and strict legal action against those responsible.
Paudel, who represents Rautahat Constituency-4 in the Lower House, was allegedly smeared with black soot while returning from a public meeting on July 23. In a statement issued on Friday, RSP Chief Whip Kabindra Burlakoti denounced the incident, stating that violence, intimidation, and degrading treatment of public representatives have no place in a democratic society. While acknowledging citizens’ right to protest and express their opinions, the party emphasized that such rights must be exercised peacefully and within the framework of the law.
The RSP warned that such acts undermine democratic values, the rule of law, and the culture of peaceful and civilized politics. It urged the government and the concerned authorities to conduct a fair and impartial investigation, bring those involved to justice, disclose the facts of the incident, and ensure the safety and security of public representatives.
Reaffirming its commitment to democratic principles, the rule of law, and peaceful political practices, the party said it remains dedicated to promoting a civilized and democratic society.
