Mid-West University Celebrates Academic Milestone with 1,928 Graduates
Mid-West University is set to confer degrees on 1,928 students during its fourth convocation ceremony on Wednesday, marking a significant academic milestone for the institution. The event will be held alongside the university’s 18th Senate meeting and 16th anniversary celebrations.
According to university officials, the graduating class includes 1,222 bachelor’s degree recipients, 694 master’s degree graduates, and 12 PhD scholars representing the university’s seven graduate schools. A total of 455 graduates have applied to participate in the convocation ceremony in person.
Dr. Bishnu Kumar Khadka, coordinator of the convocation publicity sub-committee, said the university has now produced 6,370 graduates since its establishment. The ceremony is expected to bring together university leaders, faculty members, students, and distinguished guests to celebrate academic achievement and institutional growth.
The convocation will be chaired by Pro-Chancellor and Minister for Education and Sports Sasmita Pokharel. Renowned educationist and former Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Kedar Bhakta Mathema, will attend as the chief guest.
In addition to the graduation ceremony, the university assembly will review and endorse income and expenditure reports and consider a proposed budget of Rs 1.49 billion for the fiscal year 2083/84. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Narayan Prasad Poudel said the gathering will play an important role in shaping the university’s future plans and development priorities. The event reflects Mid-West University’s continued commitment to higher education, research, and academic excellence in Nepal.
