Flood Response Under Fire as Nepal MPs Demand Urgent Action

Nepalese lawmakers on Thursday raised concerns over the government’s disaster response following the recent Bhote Koshi flood.

RSP MP Manish Jha criticized the lack of helicopters and modern equipment for search and rescue operations, calling for greater investment in disaster-management resources.

RPP MP Gyanendra Shahi accused the government of delaying the rescue of workers trapped in flooded hydropower tunnels in Rasuwa and Nuwakot. He said only two of seven blocked tunnels had been cleared and urged immediate technical intervention.

Meanwhile, RSP MP Hari Mohan Bhandari called for an investigation into the identity and purpose of the recently discussed “Green Army” to avoid confusion over national security.
