Direct Flights Between Kathmandu and Dhaka Now Available

In the near future, there will be direct flights from Kathmandu to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Nepal Airlines Corporation is preparing to operate direct flights from Kathmandu to Dhaka. The corporation has started the necessary preparations, and a feasibility study subcommittee has been formed for this purpose, and the required work is ongoing. Although Bangladesh is a neighboring country, a Nepali flag carrier’s plane had not been able to fly to Dhaka before. Keeping this necessity in mind, the required procedures have been moved forward, informed the corporation’s Operations Department Director and Senior Captain Subash Rizal. Currently, there are regular flights from Bangladesh to Kathmandu. Nepal’s private sector Himalayan Airlines has also been operating flights to Dhaka. However, flights by the national flag carrier have not been possible until now. The corporation has stated that flights will be determined based on the report provided by the study committee. Likewise, the corporation has further expanded the Kathmandu–Delhi–Kathmandu flight service. Currently, on this route, the corporation has added flights three more days a week from the 17th of Chaitra. With the new arrangement, there are 10 flights per week on the Kathmandu–Delhi–Kathmandu route.
