Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song held a high-level meeting with Nepalese Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli at the executive office in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu, marking a significant diplomatic engagement shortly after the Indian Ambassador met with the Prime Minister. The bilateral discussions focused on bolstering economic cooperation, accelerating execution on key infrastructure initiatives under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and enhancing cross-border connectivity between Nepal and China. During the meeting, Ambassador Chen reaffirmed Beijing’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s socio-economic development, trade diversification, and border infrastructure expansion. The back-to-back diplomatic interactions in Singha Durbar highlight the strategic balancing act Kathmandu continues to maintain with its two immediate neighbors, as both regional powers seek to deepen partnerships with Nepal across trade, connectivity, and development projects.
