Thapa Vows to Prioritize Good Governance Over Power Politics
Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has pledged to prioritize good governance and result-oriented work over the pursuit of power.
Speaking at a programme organised by the BP Memorial Library, Gandaki Province, on Tuesday, Thapa said the party would acknowledge its weaknesses and bring together leaders from both winning and losing factions in internal elections, ensuring capable leaders are not denied responsibilities. He said the dates for provincial and district conventions would be decided in line with the upcoming local elections at the party’s central committee meeting.
Thapa also proposed a nationwide campaign throughout Mangsir to reconnect with traditional voters who have drifted away from the party, stressing the need to combine the experience of senior leaders with the energy of younger generations.
