10 Local-Level Posts Vacant After Representatives Switch Parties
The Election Commission has announced that 10 posts of elected local-level representatives across Nepal have fallen vacant after the representatives joined other political parties.
According to an EC notice, four posts are vacant in Madhes Province, three in Koshi, two in Bagmati and one in Sudurpaschim Province.The vacant positions include municipal and rural municipality chairpersons, vice-chairpersons and ward chairpersons. The EC said it received details from the central committees of the concerned political parties regarding representatives elected in the 2022 local-level elections who later joined other parties.
The notice was issued under Rule 22(2) of the Political Parties Regulations, 2074, for information to all concerned.
