Flash Floods Devastate Nepal, At Least 8 Dead

Flash floods wreaked havoc in several parts of northern Nepal on Wednesday. At least eight people died as floodwaters rapidly spread through areas situated along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers, while many others are reported missing. Roads, bridges, and other infrastructure have also sustained extensive damage. Given the situation, there are fears that the death toll could rise. According to reports by Nepal News, eight bodies have been recovered so far from the Nuwakot and Dhading districts. Teams from the local administration and security agencies are conducting search and relief operations in the affected areas. However, accessing several regions is proving difficult, as the flash floods have damaged roads and disrupted many connecting routes.
The impact of the floods has also been felt in the Rasuwa district, located near the Tibet border, where the sudden surge of water has disrupted local life. People faced difficulties moving to safer locations as the water levels in rivers and streams across the hilly terrain rose abruptly.
