Nepal Cabinet Takes Five Key Decisions

The Nepal government has taken five major decisions following a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Balendra Shah at Singha Durbar.
The Cabinet approved a 100% exemption from clean infrastructure investment fees and VAT on both imported and domestically manufactured electric ambulances and hearses.Four people who died during recent demonstrations—Om Prakash Mehta, Jaya Prakash Mehta, Rabindra Kumar Mehta of Sunsari and Ganesh Kumar Yadav of Siraha—were officially declared martyrs.
The Cabinet also approved the opening of a Portuguese consular office in Kathmandu and appointed Nirmal Kumar Uprety of Bara as Executive Director of the Foreign Employment Board. In another decision, the government approved the public release of the 2024 Ncell Share Purchase-Sale Investigation Report, prepared by a committee led by former Auditor General Tanka Mani Sharma Dangal.
