PM Promises Distinction Between Squatters and Encroachers in Settlement Clearance Drive

Prime Minister Balen Shah has said the government will distinguish between genuine squatters and encroachers as it moves ahead with plans to clear informal agreements in Kathmandu, stressing the need for a long- term result to the issue of landlessness. With eviction medications set to begin, enterprises have been raised over the process, indeed as squatters offered demurrers in corridor of the capital. Addressing the issue through social media, the Prime Minister said the government would follow due process and insure land distribution to those authentically in need. “We’ll follow due process and distribute land to genuine squatters across the country as soon as possible. This government will give an endless result to this decades-old problem,” he stated.

Shah stressed that the issue extends beyond Kathmandu’s strands, pointing to thousands of families across the country who remain landless and vulnerable.
He also drew attention to the recreating pitfalls faced by those living along strands in the capital. “ Have we forgotten how every time cataracts force thousands of people to flee with only their lives, leaving behind their things and taking government deliverance sweats? ” he asked.

Calling the situation a long- standing and recreating problem, the Prime Minister said consecutive detainments had only worsened the extremity. He emphasized that visionary action was necessary to ensure safer agreements rather than responding after disasters strike. The government’s move comes as part of a broader trouble to address informal agreements and reduce disaster pitfalls, though it continues to face resistance from affected communities demanding clarity and safeguards in the eviction process.
