Tribhuvan University’s request to vacate the land within 35 days

Tribhuvan University (TU) has requested the return of land and immovable property under its ownership that are being illegally occupied by various individuals, companies, or organizations. The university issued a notice on Friday, warning that such properties must be vacated within 35 days. The report of the Land and Immovable Property Investigation Committee formed by the university in 2081 BS had found that many lands of TU were illegally occupied and controlled in violation of existing acts, regulations, and laws. Following the conclusions of the same report, the TU Executive Council has decided to recover the land.

The notice mentions that various individuals, private companies, and institutions have been found to be occupying land given by the government and donors for the educational advancement of the university in violation of regulations. The TU General Administration Division has stated that if the land is not vacated within the specified period (35 days), strict action will be taken in accordance with prevailing laws. This process has been initiated as per the decision of the TU Executive Council dated Chaitra 23, 2082 BS.
