Nepal Launches National Cybersecurity Centre Amid Rising Attacks

Nepal has established a National Cybersecurity Centre in Kathmandu following a surge in cyberattacks targeting government databases and financial institutions. The center will monitor threats, respond to breaches, and offer policy advice on digital safety.

The government also plans to train 500 cybersecurity experts in the next three years through regional partnerships. Discussions are ongoing with Indian IT firms for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

This development holds significance for other South Asian nations, including Bangladesh and Bhutan, where rising digital penetration has outpaced cyber regulations. Indian cybersecurity firms have expressed interest in cross-border collaboration to boost regional safety.
