Hotels in Pokhara will give 20% off during Nepali New Year
During the celebrations of the Nepali New Year 2082, hotels in Pokhara will provide visitors a 20% discount on lodging costs. This exclusive deal, which is offered for the whole festival, was announced by the Hotel Association of Pokhara. The 14th of April is the Nepali New Year. The discount, according to the President of the Hotel Association, is a component of the 20th Fewa New Year Festival 2081, which aims to promote Nepali food and culture as well as both domestic and foreign travel. The festival, scheduled to take place on 12-14 April along the banks of Fewa Lake, will showcase traditional Nepali food, cultural performances, and tourism promotion activities to encourage longer stays of visitors.
The ‘Jau Hai Pokhara’ festival is anticipated to boost Nepal’s economy by drawing more tourists and increasing hotel occupancy rates, especially among Indian visitors. The investment in the local hotel industry is estimated at Rs. 500b. The number of domestic and Indian tourists has been steadily increasing since Pokhara Metropolitan City declared 2025 to be Visit Pokhara Year. The celebration will encompass 3km stretch from Damside to Khahare, along the Fewa Lake waterfront. 21 committees have been established to plan the event, which will include pop concerts, a tourist marathon, sporting competitions, folk music performances, cultural programs, and displays of handicraft and agricultural goods. The festival is expected to cost Rs. 5 million.
