Reduced water flow in the Humla Karnali River

The Karnali River’s water level has been dropping as it passes through Humla. The Karnali River’s water level is dropping in tandem with this year’s lower winter snowfall. According to Simkot Rural Municipality Sub-Engineer Dan Bahadur Rawal, the Karnali River’s water level is lower this year than it was the previous one. According to him, the river’s water level has dramatically dropped in Upper Humla, particularly in Simkot, Namkha Rural Municipality. Due to the river’s water drying up, size has begun to appear smaller. Even in areas where rivers have widened, people can now swim directly in them.

According to Rawal, the Karnali River in China has shrunk to a small river, despite the fact that no appreciable change in the water flow has been noticed in the area heading toward Nepal. According to the drinking water chief, it is normal for river levels to drop as a result of the weather change that causes a large drop in snowfall on mountains. According to him, the primary cause of the river’s declining water level is that there is no longer a supply of water because the once snow-covered mountains have turned into black rocks, indicating that there is less snow on them. In addition to the mountains, Simkot’s headquarters should be covered in snow, but instead, it has begun to rain, which has increased worries.
