Round Table Nepal Completes Landmark Project for Visually Impaired Children

Round Table Nepal has inaugurated a new residential facility for visually impaired children, marking the completion of one of its largest community service projects. Supported by the TriNetra Foundation, the purpose-built residence was constructed over nine months at a cost of approximately Rs 18.3 million and is designed to provide a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for more than 48 children.

The facility features six residential rooms, a dining hall, a fully equipped kitchen, washrooms and other essential amenities that promote dignity, independence and overall well-being. According to Round Table Nepal, the project was made possible through the generous support of the Dolma Foundation, the Mazzali Family, corporate partners, individual donors and well-wishers. The initiative was led by Sanjeev Agrawal, Chairman of Kathmandu Round Table 1.

The residential facility was officially inaugurated on July 18 in the presence of renowned ophthalmologist and humanitarian Dr Sanduk Ruit, who attended as the chief guest. Representatives from donor organisations, Nepal Life Insurance Company, Round Table Nepal, volunteers and members of the local community also participated in the ceremony.

Speaking at the event, representatives of Round Table Nepal said the project reflects a shared commitment to providing equal opportunities for children, regardless of physical ability or economic background. They added that the new residence will offer visually impaired children a secure home where they can continue their education, develop essential life skills and build a brighter future. The organisation described the facility as a lasting example of how partnerships between charitable organisations, businesses and individuals can create meaningful and sustainable social impact.
