Rishi Bastakoti debuted his collection of poems ‘Paniko Rang’

An event in Kathmandu, poet Rishi Bastakoti debuted his collection of poems, “Paniko Rang.” The occasion, which attracted prominent members of the academic and literary communities, honored the fusion of creative poetry with current concerns. Bhupal Rai praised Bastakoti’s work, highlighting the poetry’s lasting appeal to Nepalis, particularly those living abroad. “The love for Nepal I saw among expatriates keeps the poet within them alive,” Rai said, sharing his thoughts from his trips abroad. It is admirable that Bastakoti has taken the initiative to publish a collection of poetry that speaks to our identity and feelings so strongly, even if he is overseas.The inspiration for ‘Paniko Rang’ was offered by Bastakoti, a US resident who works as an environmental specialist for the federal government.
His poetry, which spans three decades, is included in the anthology. Literary luminaries Radhika Kalpit, Rajkumar Baniyan, and Harihar Timilsena gave evaluations at the event. They commended the poems’ emotional intensity and thematic depth, which capture a range of situations and historical periods. The collection was also examined by Dr. Krishnaraj Adhikari and Baba Basnet of Nepal Pragya-Pratishthan, who praised its contribution to Nepali literature.’Paniko Rang’, published by Sikh Books, embodies Bastakoti’s dual persona as an environmentalist and poet. His commitment to Parya-Sahitya emphasizes how important literature is for raising awareness and tackling environmental issues.
