President Ramchandra Paudel returned conference regarding climate change

President Ramchandra Paudel returned to Nepal on Friday following his participation in the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which was held in Azerbaijan. President Paudel was greeted at the Tribhuvan International Airport by Vice President Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav, PM Sharma, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, HM Ramesh Lekhak, among other high-ranking officials. On Tuesday, President Paudel spoke at the high-level sessions of the World Leaders Climate Action Summit.

He cited a number of recent extreme weather occurrences that have devastated the nation, including the damage caused by the glacier lake outburst in Thame village, Solukhumbu district, and the destruction caused by floods, landslides, and flooding brought on by the monsoon last month. Additionally, he met with Ilham Aliyev, his counterpart from Azerbaijan, in Baku on Thursday and urged the developed countries to fulfill their pledges. On November 10, President Poudel departed for Baku at the invitation of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan to attend the conference.
