Discussion on expanding legal cooperation between Nepal and Israel
Shmulik Ari Bass, Israel’s Ambassador to Nepal, paid a courtesy visit to Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam. On the occasion, discussions were held on strengthening the relationship between the two countries. During the meeting, special discussions took place on making bilateral cooperation more effective on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Israel. Emphasis was also placed on the creation of necessary legal structures and documents to expand cooperation in various fields between the two countries. During the discussion, Minister Gautam informed that work is underway to digitize the laws of Nepal at the federal, provincial, and local levels to make access to justice easier for citizens through a single platform. Similarly, Minister Gautam conveyed that Nepal is willing to cooperate with Israel in areas related to integrated legal aid, mutual legal assistance, transitional justice, and parliamentary matters. The meeting included positive discussions on further strengthening and institutionalizing the relationship between the two countries in the coming days.
