India gave Nepal 10 trucks carrying prisoners

The Government of India has gifted Nepal 10 prisoner-carrying trucks. Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Devi Sahai Meena, formally handed over these trucks to the Chief District Officer of Parsa, Bhola Dahal, in Birgunj. The Indian side has stated that these trucks, provided as a gift, will help enhance the capacity of Nepal’s security agencies and law enforcement bodies. Previously, the Government of India has also provided Nepal with various types of vehicles. On March 5, 2026, at the request of the Government of Nepal for conducting the House of Representatives elections, India provided approximately 640 vehicles, including SUVs, pickups, and trucks. Similarly, in past years, India has reportedly handed over more than 2,000 vehicles to Nepal’s security agencies such as the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and the Nepal Army.
