Connectivity, Trade and Digital Economy Take Centre Stage in Nepal-China Discussions

A delegation headed by Zhao Peng met Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kathmandu on Tuesday to discuss ways to deepen bilateral cooperation between Nepal and China. During the courtesy meeting, both sides explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration in areas such as connectivity, infrastructure development, cross-border trade, investment, agriculture, tourism, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges. According to Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the talks also highlighted the importance of future-oriented partnerships in sectors like the digital economy, information and communication technology, and hydropower development. Representatives from both countries reiterated their commitment to expanding Nepal-China ties and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation across a wide range of sectors.
