Chinese Tourism Day was celebrated in Kathmandu

The 16th Chinese Tourism Day was celebrated in Kathmandu. Chinese Tourism Day was celebrated with the aim of further strengthening tourism and air connectivity between Nepal and China.
The day was organized jointly by China Southern Airlines, the China National Tourism Office (Kathmandu), and the China Cultural Center in Nepal, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board. During the program held on the occasion, discussions were held on the possibilities of promoting tourism, cultural exchange, and expanding air connectivity between Nepal and China.
The program was attended by tourism professionals from both countries, travel trade partners, representatives of diplomatic missions, aviation sector officials, and stakeholders.

The program also mentioned the fact that Chinese tourists make up the second largest source market among tourists coming to Nepal. Participants stated that the expansion of air services would be decisive in making the flow of tourists from China to Nepal more convenient and sustainable. The program highlighted that air connectivity between Nepal and China is directly contributing to tourism development. Currently, Kathmandu is connected to various Chinese cities such as Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Xi’an through direct flights. The organizers expressed their belief that China-Nepal cooperation would be further institutionalized and made more effective, promoting tourism, expanding air services, and advancing cultural understanding in the long term.
