Traffic Restored on Vital Narayanghat-Mugling Stretch Following Morning Blockage

Traffic movement has officially resumed along the Narayanghat-Mugling road section following a brief but disruptive closure caused by a dry landslide. The blockage occurred early this morning near Tuinkhola, located within Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-5 of Chitwan district, bringing one of the country’s busiest transport arteries to a complete standstill.

According to Rabindra Khanal, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office in Chitwan, the landslide deposited significant debris across the road, making it impassable for several hours. In response, local authorities coordinated an emergency clearance operation with the Road Division Office. Heavy machinery was deployed to the site to remove the earth and rocks that had obstructed the path.

Following the successful clearance of the debris, DSP Khanal confirmed that the road is now safe for travel and vehicles have begun moving in both directions. While the immediate bottleneck has been resolved, police have urged commuters to remain cautious, as dry landslides can be unpredictable. Travelers are advised to stay updated on road conditions, especially when traversing hilly terrain prone to such natural disruptions.
