Curfew Extended Till 1 PM in Birgunj to Maintain Law and Order
The District Administration Office (DAO), Parsa, has extended the curfew in Birgunj Metropolitan City till 1:00 pm this afternoon to maintain law and order. Earlier, a curfew was imposed from 6:00 pm on Monday to 8:00 am on Tuesday following concerns over possible clashes between two ethnic communities.
Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal said efforts are underway to resolve the dispute through dialogue and coordination. The curfew was extended as a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure public safety.
The administration has clarified that vehicles providing essential services will be allowed to operate during the curfew hours. Residents have been urged to cooperate with security agencies and seek permission if they need to step out for emergencies.
Gatherings, rallies and demonstrations remain prohibited in key areas, including Bus Park in the east, Sirsiyapul in the west, Powerhouse Chowk in the north and Shankaracharya Gate in the south.
