More than Rs. 30 million worth of goats were sold

Thanks to Triveni Rural Municipality subsidies, the Salyan market now has goats valued at over Rs. 30 million, drawing in farmers. 308 farmers who sold at least 100 kg of goat meat in 2024–2025 received Rs. 1 million from the livestock development section of the Triveni Rural Municipality. In addition to selling goats worth Rs. 7 million, 73 farmers from Namuna Social Entrepreneur Women’s Cooperative received Rs. 232,120, while 120 farmers from Durga Bhawani Social Entrepreneur Women’s Cooperative received Rs. 528,220. According to the rural municipality, 62 farmers have received a Rs. 187,400 subsidy from the Uphaar Social Entrepreneur Women’s Cooperative. Goats sold by this cooperative brought around Rs. 7.15 million.

Similarly, 53 farmers received a subsidy of Rs. 139,839 from the Triveni Animal Husbandry Cooperative, while goats worth Rs. 3.83 million were sold. Rawat claims that compared to the previous fiscal year, the rural municipality had delivered goats worth about Rs. 10 million more. During the previous fiscal year, Triveni Rural Municipality farmers sold goats worth Rs. 23.63 million through cooperatives and received a subsidy from the municipality. Triveni Rural Municipality offers subsidies to farmers selling over 100 kg of goats through cooperatives and groups, covering management and creating goat pocket zones in Wards 2, 4, and 5.
