Rajbiraj launches traffic management initiative

After unplanned parking started to impede traffic flow, a traffic management project was started in the Rajbiraj Municipality. The initiative has been implemented in collaboration with the Rajbiraj Traffic Police Office and the Transport Management Service Office. The nation’s first planned city, Rajbiraj, was created in 1959 through “town planning,” but it has been plagued by haphazard parking. Following talks about road safety, traffic management, and accident reduction with the heads of the relevant offices, Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal moved forward with the traffic management initiative. From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., heavy goods vehicles will not be allowed on the busy roads surrounding Rajbiraj Farmers Market. It is anticipated that traffic will improve over the next few days.

The middle of March, Rajbiraj bus park will be open, according to Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal. Authorities anticipate that the bus park will be operational by next month, alleviating traffic congestion in the city, as construction has reached its final phase and the contractor has promised to turn it over in a few weeks. Kameshwar Rohit, the head of the Transport Management Service Office, Saptari, stated at a road safety, traffic management, and accident reduction meeting chaired by Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal that, despite there being over a hundred e-rickshaws operating in Rajbiraj, none of them had route permits. All e-rickshaws and auto-rickshaws operating within the municipality are required to complete vehicle registration, according to a decision made by stakeholders.
