While waiting for a “breakthrough,” the Siddhababa tunnel

The Siddhababa Tunnel, a national pride project, will soon be completed. Just 1.5 meters of the Siddhar Baba tunnel, which is situated beneath the Siddharth highway at Tinau-3 of Palpa, remain to be excavated. To make the announcement, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is planning to host a special event on January 24. Since there are no barriers in the way of the tunnel’s construction, the Siddhababa Tunnel Project’s head, Krishna Raj Adhikari, stated that the seven-month-old tunnel project has advanced more quickly than anticipated. According to the official, the 151-meter-long first bypass gate, the 161-meter-long second bypass gate, and the 130-meter-long third bypass gate have all been finished.
The announcement that the 1,126-meter tunnel has advanced is being coordinated with the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure. On the main tunnel’s north and south sides, work has also begun on wall finishing, layering, and electrification. The tunnel’s preparatory work was initiated two years ago in Tinau Rural Municipality-3 Dobhan of Palpa under the Siddharth Highway. In February 2022, the tunnel’s contract was signed, allowing for its construction within five years. China State Construction Engineering Company accepted the 7 billion 34 million 21 million rupee contract. Within the next two years, the company intends to finish all of the work.
