Waste management plant in Dhangadhi aims to last 30 years
There has been 65% progress on the contemporary waste management center that is being built at Patela, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-7. The project manager estimates that a project with a two-year construction plan will be finished six months ahead of schedule. Within seven months, he added, more than half of the building work had been finished, with the installation of machinery and equipment being the only things left to do. With help from ADB, a waste management center is being constructed as part of the Regional Urban Development Project. The center, which will cover more than 22 hectares, is being built for Rs. 960 million. Before being released into the Khutiya River, he said, the liquid waste that was produced throughout the management process would be treated to make sure it wouldn’t affect aquatic life.
Sichuan Province Geological Engineering Complex of China has been awarded a waste management centre project in Dhangadhi, aiming to manage the city’s waste for 30 years. It is anticipated that 50–60 locals will be employed when the waste management center is established. The compost that is created will also be distributed to nearby residents for use in agriculture. Additionally, a 28-cubic-meter pond has been constructed for the purification of liquid waste. Prior to being released into the river, the liquid waste will undergo testing for BOD, COD, and pH levels. The waste management site will change into a high hill-like area after 30 years. Given that the center is being constructed inside the Patela Community Forest, a children’s park could be created at that time.
