Traffic Crackdown: 1,700+ Violators Fined Within a Day

During the last 24 hours, the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office reported that a total of 1,719 traffic rule violators were penalized. Among these, 113 individuals were caught for driving under the influence of drugs, 35 were cited for driving vehicles in poor mechanical condition, and 102 faced penalties for violating traffic signals. Additionally, 93 drivers were penalized for speeding, 179 for breaching lane discipline, and 38 drivers of public vehicles were cited for unsafe operations. Other infractions included 46 for unnecessary use of horn, 20 for picking up and dropping off passengers at unauthorized locations, and 1,093 for various other traffic violations. The penalties imposed resulted in a total of Rs 1,184,500 being deposited into the state treasury.
