Tourists from steamy Tarai flock to Ilam

People in the Tarai region are fleeing to cooler hill stations like Gufapatal, a well-liked tourism destination for Indian and Nepali visitors, and Ilam, which is renowned for its picturesque tea gardens and verdant hills. Popular among West Bengal and Tarai tourists, Gufapatal is a lively region with brilliant flowers and verdant peaks that provides picturesque views of hilltops, dense pine forests, and neighboring India.
According to Indira Lama of the local tourism marketing committee, Gufapatal receives more than 100 visitors each day, both domestic and foreign. The ‘I Love Nepal’ pillar and a view tower have been constructed to improve the visitor experience and support the Shree Antu Tourism Entrepreneurs Association, which hopes to increase tourism and generate jobs in the area.
