Toni Hagen’s photo exhibit took place

With assistance from the Toni Hagen Foundation Nepal, Rudrapur Secondary School in Rupandehi organized a photo exhibition called “Toni Hagenko Uhileko Nepal.” Numerous images captured by Swiss geologist Toni Hagen during his trip to Nepal seventy years ago were displayed. Keshar Bahadur Khatri, Ward Chairperson of Kanchan Rural Municipality Ward No. 4, opened the exhibition by saying he thought displaying these old photos would enable students to closely observe and comprehend Nepal’s historical situation and the way of life of its people.

Similarly, Toni Hagen traveled widely throughout Nepal during his visit, taking pictures of the country’s landscape, people, and way of life, according to Basanta Thapa, the founding editor of Himal Magazine and treasurer of the Toni Hagen Foundation Nepal. He went on to say that the exhibition only featured a few of Hagen’s photos. Thapa emphasized that Toni Hagen was not only a geologist but also a photojournalist, adding that the rare and historic images he captured while traveling offer important new perspectives on Nepal’s history and evolution.
