The Sixth Asian Population Conference will be held by the government

The Sixth Asian Population Conference will be held in Kathmandu by the Nepali government in collaboration with international organizations and demographic specialists. Leading academics, researchers, and officials from over 35 nations will be among the more than 500 delegates attending this historic event. According to Prof. Yogendra Bahadur Gurung, Head of the Central Department of Population Studies, TU, the conference intends to address urgent demographic concerns and possibilities to promote sustainable development, with a major focus on population dynamics in Asia. APC gives nations a special forum to share ideas and gain knowledge from one another. The conference’s organizers stress that it will examine how demographic changes affect social and economic well-being.

Using current data and studies, participants will examine how demographic trends and more general socioeconomic factors interact, evaluating topics including urbanization, migration, aging populations, and youth participation. The goal of these talks is to extract useful information that will direct regional cooperation and policymaking.Highlights planned include topical plenaries, specialist workshops on gender equity, climate adaptation, and population policy integration, as well as keynote talks from the prime minister of Nepal and foreign experts. Cultural activities highlighting Nepal’s legacy will also be included in the event, reaffirming the host country’s dedication to inclusive and sustainable development. This program demonstrates Nepal’s determination to match population policies with sustainable development objectives and its emerging leadership in demographic planning.
