The irrigation canal offers residents several advantages

The Chure region’s concrete irrigation canal, constructed by the Rangun River, has made it easier for residents to irrigate farms, supply water for livestock, and clean up after flooding. Hundreds of ropanis of land are irrigated by a new facility in Bhawar village, Alital Rural Municipality-5, which also improves access to water for household uses. The Sundar Nagar Lower Bhawar Irrigation Project was constructed by the Water Resources and Irrigation Development Division Office, Dadeldhura, at a cost of Rs. 2 million in the most recent fiscal year 2024–2025. According to Rawat, who is also the chairperson of the project’s users’ committee, some 320 meters of canal were built from the Rangun River. He claims that the new concrete canal has removed the many pauses in water flow that were present in the old clay canal.

The area used to rely on an unpaved canal, which regularly broke in a number of places, especially during the paddy plantation season. Delivering water sometimes required a whole day of labour. Rawat claims that this issue has been resolved, allowing for steady water flow that facilitates animal care, bathing, laundry, and other household tasks.Although the planting of rice was finished earlier this year, further cash is required to get the canal to the fields. In the preceding fiscal year, 206 projects at a combined budget of Rs. 250 million were reported by Engineer Amar Bahadur Pal, head of the Division Office.
