The government establishes a working team to assess airfare structures

A task group has been established by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation to look into the fictitious scarcity of plane tickets and the inflated costs that come from it. The Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies, and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal are represented on the task force, which is led by Joint Secretary Indu Ghimire. The task team has been directed to carry out an extensive investigation into ticket sales, passenger purchases, and cases of black-market activities, according to Joint Secretary and Ministry Spokesperson Ram Krishna Lamichhane.
A report with suggestions for resolving the problem must be sent as soon as possible. Based on these recommendations, the ministry will take the necessary actions. Badri Prasad Pandey, the minister of tourism, ordered airlines that operate foreign flights to submit their price rates within 24 hours on Wednesday in response to public complaints over skyrocketing costs. According to the ministry, 11 foreign airlines that offer flights to and from Nepal have complied with the regulation by providing information on ticket costs, availability, and passenger statistics.
