In Diktel Bazaar, the First National Bamboo Conference is in progress. The dates of the conference are February 27–March 1. The Khotang Multi-Purpose Covered Hall in Diktel served as the official venue for the bamboo conference, and the adjoining Matikore playground is hosting an exhibition with a variety of bamboo-made goods. It is organized by the Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi municipality. Bamboo is also used to build the stage and welcome gate at the expo site. There are 51 booths selling a variety of goods, including those from local agriculture and bamboo.
Under the theme “Where there is bamboo, there is life, where there is life, there is bamboo,” Mayor Bhattarai announced that 23 different working papers would be presented by bamboo experts at the conference. The conference is also organized by Green Bamboo Creation, Lalitpur, the Ministry of Forest and Environment, Koshi Province, and the Forest Research and Training Centre, Babarmahal.
