The city of Pokhara announces a Rs 8.35 billion budget
For the fiscal year 2082–2083 BS, the Pokhara Metropolitan City has released its annual budget of Rs 8.35 billion. Devi Gurung, the deputy mayor, gave the budget presentation at the metropolitan city’s 17th municipal assembly on Sunday. According to the budget, the federal conditional grants will generate Rs 3.13 billion, the federal revenue sharing will generate Rs 330.08 million, the federal equalization grant will generate Rs 528.7 million, and the provincial equalization grant will generate Rs 0.815 million. The expected internal revenue is Rs 5.22 billion, according to Deputy Mayor Gurung.
Province revenue sharing is expected to bring in Rs 32.8 million, while local revenue sharing is expected to bring in Rs 1.1 billion for the city. Developing green, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure and boosting tourism are two of the budget’s main priorities, according to the proposal. The management of solid waste, environmental conservation, inclusive, balanced, and equal development, institutional expansion, the encouragement of good governance, and the delivery of high-quality services have also been given significant significance.
