President Paudel should use Radio Nepal as the ‘voice of the voiceless’

President Ramchandra Paudel has urged Radio Nepal, which this year changed its name to Public Service Broadcasting, to work as the “voice of the voiceless” and actively support the nation’s adoption of a federal democratic republic system. In a greeting message on the 75th anniversary of Radio Nepal, President Paudel urged the station to uphold the public’s right to knowledge and to operate efficiently in accordance with the values and goals of public service broadcasting.
He also stated that development of the internet and information technology has brought about significant changes in the content of news and the dissemination of factual information. By providing news in 25 languages and programming in 24 languages, Radio Nepal has significantly contributed to the maintenance and advancement of Nepali society’s inclusive nature.
