President Paudel is present at the Basanta Shrawan ceremony
On the occasion of Basanta Panchami, President Ramchandra Paudel attended the Basanta Shrawan ceremony this morning at Hanumandhoka Durbar Square. At the auspicious hour of 7:55 am, President Paudel was treated to a special melody and the priest’s offering of tika and Prasad. Every year on Basanta Panchami, the President, in his capacity as Head of State, is supposed to listen to a special melody.
President Paudel was given a guard of honor by a Nepali Army contingent. Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, and Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav. Raut, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, Chair of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal, senior government officials, and security chiefs attended the event. The festival is observed with prayers to Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge, during Shree Panchami and Saraswati Puja.
