PM Oli presents numerous international competition winners with sporting prizes

Sportsmen, coaches, and management received accolades and prizes from Nepal’s Prime Minister, KP Sharma Oli, in recognition of their accomplishments in international tournaments. Bijay Sinjali received Rs 6.5 million for taking home the third Taolu World Cup bronze. Manamati Bista and the Nepali women’s Kabbadi team took home cash prizes of Rs 150,000 and Rs 300,000 after winning silver in the CAVA Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship in Sri Lanka and bronze in the Sixth Asian Kabbadi Championship in Iran. In compliance with the National Sports Development Rules-2079 BS, the Cabinet made the announcement.

The PM said that the growth and advancement of the sports industry is the government’s top goal and congratulated Bipin Prasad Sharma and his team on their triumph over Singapore in the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup. Highlighting the achievements of sports figures and praising athletes, coaches, and managers for their efforts to promote the nation’s pride and reputation abroad, the PM underlined the government’s top priority in supporting sports. Tejulal Chaudhary, Minister of Youth and Sports, also informed the audience that the construction of the cricket stadium in Kirtipur has advanced significantly, that the country’s sports sector has recently become more active, and that the budget for the sports sector in the upcoming fiscal year has nearly doubled.
